To demonstrate expert assessment and manual treatment skills, applying
advanced knowledge to complex patient conditions, ensuring safe and effective
interventions tailored to individual needs.
•
To take responsibility for the safe use and maintenance of equipment,
including teaching junior physiotherapists and non-qualified staff in its
correct and competent use for both treatment and patient self-management.
•
To supervise, mentor, and appraise junior staff and students, supporting
their professional development while fostering consistent high-quality
physiotherapy care across the medical team.
•
To provide specialist guidance and practical instruction to patients,
carers, and MDT members, enhancing understanding of physiotherapy interventions
and ensuring a coordinated approach to care.
•
To manage and prioritise patient caseloads effectively, making clinical
decisions independently while coordinating with the MDT to facilitate timely
assessment, treatment, and safe discharge or transfer.
•
To actively engage in continuous professional development and service
improvement, participating in training, reflective practice, competency
setting, and evaluation to maintain and enhance specialist physiotherapy
skills.
