Job description

Our client Bury Council is looking for a Team Manager to join their Cared for Children team. Key Responsibilities • Provide robust supervision, coaching, and development support to a team of social workers and practitioners. • Oversee and quality assure care planning, pathway planning, risk assessments, and safety planning to ensure children achieve positive outcomes. • Lead practice with children and young people who present with complex needs, trauma, exploitation risks, placement instability, and challenging behaviours. • Ensure effective safeguarding responses with a strong understanding of Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE), Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), and Contextual Safeguarding. • Drive high-quality, child-centred practice that promotes permanence, stability, and positive life chances for children in care. • Work collaboratively with partner agencies, carers, education providers, and health professionals to deliver coordinated support. • Monitor performance, statutory compliance, and service standards across the team. About You You will be a qualified and experienced social work leader with a strong track record in children's social care, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to support staff working with complex young people and families. You will have sound knowledge of: • Children's legislation, safeguarding, and statutory guidance. • CCE, CSE, and Contextual Safeguarding approaches. • Risk assessment, safety planning, and care planning for children in care. • Performance management and workforce development.
