Technical Project Manager – Capital Projects (Mechanical) Surrey | 6 months (temp to perm) | £33.52 per hour A senior opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&E Technical Project Manager to join a large NHS organisation’s Capital Projects Team. This role will play a key part in delivering a complex and high-value portfolio of estate developments. The Role You will lead the delivery of major capital schemes from inception through to completion, acting as a technical expert and supporting the wider capital programme. Key responsibilities include: • Leading delivery of capital projects including new build, refurbishment, and backlog maintenance schemes • Managing projects ranging from small works to multi-million-pound developments • Providing technical expertise across disciplines • Managing consultants, contractors, and procurement processes in line with frameworks and governance • Overseeing budgets, business cases, and financial management of schemes • Supporting strategic estate planning and capital programme delivery • Leading stakeholder engagement across clinical, operational, and external partners About You We are seeking a technically strong and experienced project professional with leadership capability. Essential: • Degree (or equivalent) in construction, engineering, surveying, or related discipline • Significant experience managing complex capital projects • Strong commercial and budget management skills • Experience within healthcare environments (knowledge of HTMs / HBNs) • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Desirable: • Professional membership (e.g. RICS, CIOB, RIBA) • Knowledge of ProCure22 or similar frameworks • Experience managing or mentoring junior staff
