Technology Category Manager
London (Hybrid)
£70,000 + bonus
The Opportunity
REED Procurement are partnering with a leading, consumer-facing media organisation that delivers content and experiences to millions of users every month. Operating across digital, print, audio and live platforms, this is a business where technology is at the heart of everything they do.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Technology Category Manager to step into a highly visible role within a fast-paced, evolving environment. You’ll play a key part in shaping supplier strategy and driving commercial value across critical technology and broadcasting spend.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of a broad technology spend area, with a strong focus on software and professional services, while working closely with teams across technology, digital products, marketing and broadcasting.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Leading procurement activity across technology and broadcasting suppliers
• Managing end-to-end sourcing programmes, from spend analysis through to negotiation and contract award
• Delivering measurable cost savings and cost avoidance across your categories
• Partnering with stakeholders across Technology, Digital, MarTech and Editorial teams
• Ensuring robust supplier due diligence in collaboration with legal, finance, cyber security and data protection teams
• Supporting governance, reporting, and procurement best practice
• Contributing to cross-entity and global procurement initiatives
• Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
About You
• We’re looking for a commercially minded procurement professional who thrives in a fast-moving, delivery-focused environment.
• Strong experience in technology procurement (software and professional services)
• Proven success delivering end-to-end sourcing programmes
• Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
• Experience with spend analysis, market benchmarking and business case development
• A solid understanding of supplier contracts and commercial frameworks
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
• A proactive, self-starting mindset with the ability to work independently
• CIPS Level 4 qualification or above
