Job description

Our client, a welcoming and well-established school, is seeking a friendly, organised and professional School Secretary to join their administration team on a temporary, term-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a busy school environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service to pupils, parents, staff and visitors. As the first point of contact for the school, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the reception and administrative function. Starting in September 2026, Until July 2027. 2 days per week (Tues & Weds: 8:30am-4pm) Key Responsibilities • Welcome visitors and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed. • Answer telephone calls and respond to routine enquiries. • Prepare correspondence, reports and general administration. • Coordinate parent tours and professional visits. • Communicate school information to parents and staff using Arbor. • Record daily pupil attendance. • Support the administration of school trips and events. • Maintain pupil records and undertake general administrative duties. Key attributes • Previous administration or reception experience, ideally within a school. • Excellent communication and organisational skills. • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. • Confident using Microsoft Office (experience with Arbor is desirable). • Professional, approachable and able to maintain confidentiality. • A flexible, proactive approach and commitment to safeguarding.
