Job description

• High voltage power supply testing • IPC soldering & rework • ISO9001 / ISO14001 environment Test Technician – High Voltage Manufacturing – East Sussex A specialist engineering manufacturer in East Sussex is seeking a Test Technician to join its production team. This Test Technician role sits within a high-voltage manufacturing environment, supporting the delivery of complex power supply units used across medical, semiconductor and industrial applications. The successful Test Technician will ensure all power supply units meet defined safety and performance standards before release to customers. This is a structured, hands-on Test Technician position requiring strong attention to detail, technical discipline, and confidence working with high voltage equipment. You will work closely with Engineering and Production teams to resolve non-conformances, support product modifications, and maintain compliance with ISO9001 and ISO14001 systems. Key Responsibilities • Testing high voltage power supplies to detailed specification requirements • Completing accurate test reports and documentation in line with ISO standards • Identifying product faults and raising non-conformances • Supporting assembly upgrades and product modifications • Liaising with Design Engineering and internal departments to resolve issues • Providing hands-on support within manufacturing when required Skills & Experience Required • Experience testing electronic or electrical products in manufacturing • Confident use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators and digital power supplies • Knowledge of high voltage test methods • Soldering and rework to IPC standards • Experience working within a lean manufacturing environment • Good working knowledge of MS Office Working Environment • PPE required where appropriate (safety footwear, eyewear, gloves) • Fine assembly and soldering work • Visual inspection of small components and technical drawings • Manual handling up to 30kg (mechanical aids provided where applicable) This Test Technician opportunity suits someone methodical, safety-conscious and technically competent within electronics manufacturing.
