Trainee Die-Cutter Operator

Job Title: Trainee Die-Cutter Operator Location: Kettering, NN15 6JQ Salary: Dependent upon experience Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Working Hours: 07:30 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday (30 mins break) / 07:30 – 14:00 Friday (30 mins break) We are seeking a Die Cutter to join our dynamic production team. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A background in die-cutting operations would be advantageous. Key Responsibilities: • Set up and operate die-cutting machinery safely and efficiently. • Complete and record daily machine health and safety pre-use checks according to the prescribed health and safety protocol for each machine. • Read and interpret job specifications and production schedules. • Manual handling of raw materials into the machine. • Ensure machine key performance indicators (KPI’s) and specified run rates are achieved • Record all daily outputs, waste, and any production issues on production timesheet. • Job rotation with other machines to cover absence when required. • Ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements. • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting. • Monitor production output and minimise waste. • Maintain a clean and safe working environment. • Work closely with production and quality teams to meet deadlines. • Adopt a flexible approach to ensure business requirements are met. • Adhere to company policies and procedure at all times. • Any other reasonable request made by management team. About you: Essential Experience: • Some experience operating an automatic die-cutting machine would be preferable. • Strong understanding of production processes and quality control. • Ability to read technical drawings and job instructions. • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Good communication skills and great team player. • Flexible approach to overtime when required. Desirable Experience: • Experience with Bobst or similar die-cutting equipment. • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within manufacturing.
