Job description
Starting your career in engineering? We're looking for a motivated hands on worker to learn tool-setting for CNC milling machines. This is a hands-on role with on-the-job training and support from experienced team members to help you build practical skills and progress within the workshop.
Key responsibilities
• Learn to work from tooling setting sheets and job instructions
• Assist with setting milling cutters, drills and other tooling into holders (training provided)
• Deliver and collect tools to/from machines and support tool breakdown on job completion
• Keep the tool-setting area clean, organised and safe
• Help maintain tool holders, vices and other workshop equipment
• Support tooling stock control and help order consumables as required
• Develop the ability to prioritise tasks and meet production deadlines
Skills & experience (ideal for career starters)
• Genuine interest in engineering, machining, or hands-on workshop work
• Any workshop/assembly experience is helpful but not necessarily essential - we will train the right person
• Good attention to detail and reliable timekeeping
• Willingness to learn, follow processes and work methodically
• Excellent team communication skills
Education
• GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent (or working towards)
