Transport Planner We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Planner to join a established Logistics team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional service. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimising daily transport operations, ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed efficiently and on schedule. You will liaise with drivers, hauliers, ports, customers, suppliers, and internal departments to maintain smooth operations while ensuring compliance with transport regulations and company standards. Key Responsibilities • Coordinate daily transport schedules to ensure the timely delivery and collection of goods. • Liaise with internal departments to ensure finished goods are available in line with loading and dispatch schedules. • Work closely with freight forwarders to arrange shipping, haulage, and associated logistics activities. • Prepare, manage, and maintain accurate transport and shipping documentation within required timescales. • Oversee the loading, dispatch, and delivery processes to ensure operational efficiency. • Allocate vehicles, drivers, and routes to maximise service levels and operational performance. • Investigate and resolve transport-related issues promptly, providing excellent customer service at all times. • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, transport regulations, and quality standards. • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and logistics partners. • Contribute positively to team objectives and support wider business operations as required. • Promote the highest standards of customer and supplier care. Skills and Experience • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a transport planning, logistics, or similar operational role. • Strong knowledge of HGV regulations, road transport legislation, and compliance requirements. • Experience using transport management systems; knowledge would be advantageous. • Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail. • Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and manage multiple tasks effectively. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
