Traveller Liaison Officer Wembley, Northwest London Local Authority Immediate Start | Ongoing Temporary Assignment Monday to Friday | 7.2 Hours per Day (36 Hours per Week) Pay Rates • £22.41 per hour PAYE • £29.51 per hour Umbrella/LTD The Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced Traveller Liaison Officer to join a well-established Local Authority Housing team in Wembley. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Traveller community while delivering high-quality housing and site management services. The successful candidate will take direct responsibility for the management of a Traveller site, acting as the primary point of contact for residents and stakeholders, ensuring excellent tenancy and licence management, compliance, customer service and community engagement. This is an ongoing temporary position with an immediate start available. Key Responsibilities • Act as the lead officer responsible for the day-to-day management of a Traveller site. • Be the face of the landlord, delivering a visible, accessible and customer-focused housing management service. • Manage licences from initial letting through to termination and re-let. • Support residents to sustain their licence agreements and meet rental obligations. • Promote financial inclusion and access to support services. • Build positive relationships with Traveller residents and community stakeholders. • Coordinate multi-agency meetings and action plans to resolve complex cases. • Maintain accurate resident records and ensure all interactions are recorded in real time. • Undertake regular site inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements. • Work proactively using mobile technology and housing management systems. • Identify and resolve housing management issues while ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. • Contribute towards improving resident satisfaction and engagement. Essential Requirements • Strong understanding of local authority housing services and support agencies. • Knowledge of the Protection from Eviction Act 1977 and Housing Act 1988 relating to licences and occupancy management. • Understanding of welfare benefits, including Universal Credit. • Awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion issues affecting Gypsy, Traveller and Roma communities, including stigma, discrimination and social exclusion. • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams. • Understanding of social housing regulation and landlord responsibilities. Experience • Experience within housing management, tenancy management, neighbourhood housing or a related housing role. • Proven ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload. • Experience of delivering excellent customer-focused services. • Ability to take ownership of complex cases and drive positive outcomes. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. • Experience of partnership working with internal departments and external agencies. Qualifications • Full current UK Driving Licence. • Willingness to enrol with the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) and work towards a Level 3 Housing qualification in line with the Social Housing (Regulation) Act requirements.
