A Band 3 Clinical Support Worker (CSW) working as a Triage Nurse Assistant is responsible for supporting registered nurses in the initial assessment and prioritisation of patients by gathering key clinical information, taking and recording observations, and identifying any signs of deterioration. The role involves delivering basic clinical care such as carrying out routine tests, preparing patients for assessment, and maintaining high standards of infection prevention. They help manage patient flow within busy environments by ensuring individuals are seen safely and in a timely manner, while providing reassurance and clear communication to patients and families. Additionally, they are responsible for accurate documentation, updating electronic systems, and working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, always ensuring patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality are upheld in line with NHS policies.
