Used Car Manager Location: Hybrid / National Travel Required Salary: Up to £55,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance/Company Vehicle + Benefits About the Opportunity A growing automotive organisation is seeking an experienced Used Car Manager to lead and develop its UK used vehicle strategy. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to shape a national approved used programme, influence dealer network performance, and support the long-term commercial success of an expanding automotive business. Working closely with senior stakeholders across finance, remarketing, network development, and dealer operations, you will be responsible for driving used car profitability, supporting residual value performance, and delivering a premium customer proposition throughout the used vehicle lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Used Car Performance & Dealer Network Support • Monitor network-wide used vehicle sales performance, stock turn, profitability, and key commercial KPIs. • Identify market opportunities and implement initiatives that improve sales volume and margin performance. • Partner with franchised retailers to enhance used car operations, stock acquisition strategies, pricing, and vehicle presentation. • Support the development and delivery of attractive retail finance campaigns in collaboration with finance partners. Approved Used Programme Management • Lead the ongoing development of a manufacturer-approved used vehicle programme. • Enhance customer propositions including warranty offerings, vehicle preparation standards, inspections, and customer benefits. • Ensure the programme remains competitive and aligned with market expectations. Residual Value & Remarketing Strategy • Work closely with internal stakeholders to support residual value performance and protect brand equity. • Assist in managing vehicle supply channels and remarketing activities. • Support the disposal and redistribution of company vehicles, demonstrators, and fleet returns into the used car network. Network Compliance & Market Intelligence • Establish and oversee retailer audit processes to ensure compliance with approved used standards. • Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, market supply levels, and wider economic factors affecting the used vehicle sector. • Provide recommendations and insights to influence commercial decision-making. About You We are looking for someone who can demonstrate: • Proven experience within a Used Car Manager, Used Vehicle Manager, Remarketing Manager, or OEM Used Car role. • Strong knowledge of the UK used vehicle marketplace, including valuation tools, auction channels, and remarketing processes. • Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to analyse performance data and drive profitable outcomes. • Experience working with dealer networks and influencing stakeholders at all levels. • Experience developing or managing an Approved Used Vehicle programme would be highly advantageous. • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills. • A passion for automotive retail and customer experience.
