Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Newark (NG22)
Salary: £16.82 per hour
Hours: 8.30am - 17.30pm - Monday to Friday
Temporary ongoing role with the potential to become permanent after 12 successful weeks
The Role
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to lead a busy warehouse operation, ensuring productivity, safety, quality and service standards are consistently achieved. This role requires someone who can motivate a team, manage daily warehouse activities and support operational performance while maintaining high standards of compliance. A Reach Truck License with experience would be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and support a small team of warehouse operatives across daily operations.
• Allocate workloads and monitor productivity to ensure customer deadlines are met.
• Lead by example, working alongside the team when required.
• Operate FLT safely and efficiently.
• Carry out goods-in, goods-out and stock movement activities.
• Ensure accurate stock control and inventory management.
• Conduct daily team briefings and communicate operational priorities.
• Monitor attendance, performance and timekeeping.
• Provide coaching, training and support to new and existing employees.
• Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Complete accident, incident and near-miss reporting where required.
• Liaise with Warehouse Management regarding staffing levels, workflow and operational issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained throughout the warehouse.
• Complete relevant paperwork and system updates accurately.
Skills & Experience
• Previous experience supervising a warehouse or logistics team.
• Valid Reach in date external FLT licence with experience
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations.
• Excellent people management and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Good organisational and planning skills.
• Experience working to KPIs and productivity targets.
• Good IT skills, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety legislation.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively.
