London Fire Brigade - Protective Equipment Group (PEG) Warehouse Technician Location: Croydon, CR0 4RN • Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (3-month contract) The London Fire Brigade (LFB) are seeking a Protective Equipment Group (PEG) Warehouse Technician to join the Brigade's Operations Support Group (OSG) at their facility in Croydon on a three-month temporary basis. This role is ideal for individuals with a technical background in engineering, servicing, and maintenance of equipment. The primary responsibility will be the testing of firefighter hoses, alongside other technical and administrative duties. Day-to-Day of the Role: • Equipment Maintenance: Testing of firefighter hoses • Transport and Handling: Move, transport, and carry equipment within the Greater London area as required (full, clean UK driving license is essential) • Record Keeping: Maintain and update both manual and computerised records relating to equipment and stores. • Data Entry: Use computerised systems for inputting and retrieving information, and managing email communications. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Technical background, preferably in engineering or a related field. • Experience in servicing and maintenance of technical equipment. • Proficient in using computerised systems for data entry and information retrieval. • Strong organisational and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Full UK driving license is essential.
