Workshop Controller (HGV) Up to £49,000 OTE | Monday-Friday | Excellent Benefits A well-established commercial vehicle dealership is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead the day-to-day operation of a busy HGV workshop. This role is ideal for a highly organised, proactive individual who can effectively manage workshop performance, technician productivity, compliance, and customer service standards. Salary & Hours • Basic salary up to £43,000 DOE • OTE up to £49,000 including bonus • 41 hours per week • Monday-Friday, typically 8:00am-5:00pm • 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:00am-12:00pm) Key Responsibilities • Maximise workshop efficiency, productivity and profitability. • Plan and allocate work effectively to technicians. • Lead, motivate and develop the workshop team. • Maintain strong communication between workshop, service, parts and customers. • Ensure accurate completion of repair and service documentation. • Manage workshop equipment, tooling and calibration records. • Work closely with the Parts department to minimise downtime. • Ensure manufacturer warranty standards are met. • Maintain exceptional Health & Safety and housekeeping standards. • Support customer satisfaction initiatives and maintain audit readiness. About You • Experience within an HGV, commercial vehicle or heavy automotive workshop environment. • Strong organisational and leadership skills. • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workloads effectively. • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements. • Customer-focused with a commitment to quality and operational excellence.
