Year 1 Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Full-Time | Late September 2026 - July 2027
Outer London Pay Scale: £37,868 - £50,472 (M1-M6)
A well-established 3-form entry primary school in Hayes is seeking a Year 1 Teacher to join their team from late September 2026 to cover a maternity leave until July 2027.

About the Role
The successful candidate will:
• Take responsibility for a Year 1 class from late September 2026
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Support pupils as they continue to develop key literacy and numeracy skills
• Deliver high-quality phonics teaching and assessment
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
• Work collaboratively with parallel teachers across the year group
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a teacher who:
• Holds UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1
• Has a good understanding of phonics and early reading
• Maintains high expectations for behaviour and achievement
• Is organised, reliable, and committed to pupil progress
• Works effectively as part of a team
