Youth Support Worker

Full job description We are a small, dedicated supported accommodation provider based in Bolton. We offer a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where young people can develop the skills and confidence needed to achieve independence and personal growth. We support looked-after young people and care leavers aged 16–17, as well as young adults aged 18+ who may not have care experience, including those with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, attachment difficulties, mental health challenges, and moderate learning disabilities. About You We are looking to recruit passionate Support Workers, on a permanent basis, to join our team supporting young people (aged 16 and above) in shared/group-living supported accommodation. Contracts Available We are currently recruiting for full-time and part-time vacancies — all roles include sleep-in duties, with at least two staff present during waking hours and a trained member of staff sleeping on-site overnight. Roles will include a mixture of shifts Monday – Sunday, daytime, evenings, weekends (working every other weekend) and sleep-in duties in accordance with the needs of the service. Key Role and Responsibilities • Help create a safe, warm, and nurturing home environment where young people's voices are heard and respected. • In accordance with each young person's individual support plan, support them in all aspects of daily life in a positive and caring manner, ensuring dignity, respect, choice, independence, and privacy are always maintained. • Support young people to develop the life skills, confidence, and independence needed to prepare for adulthood, including self-care, budgeting, cooking, and managing a tenancy. • Act as a keyworker to individual young people, building trusted, consistent relationships. • Support young people to access education, training, employment, and community life, helping them attend appointments, college, or work. • Plan and take part in activities with young people that support wellbeing and community integration. • Work as part of a shift-based team, ensuring at least two staff are present during waking hours, and undertake sleep-in duties as required by the rota. • Support with household duties such as catering, shopping, laundry, and general housekeeping. • Contribute to the regular evaluation and review of support plans and associated documentation. • Follow safeguarding procedures at all times, remaining alert to risks and promoting young people's safety, both within and outside the home. • Support young people to understand their rights, including access to advocacy and how to raise concerns or complaints. • Participate in any required training and development, including safeguarding, behaviour management, and specialist training relevant to individual needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, mental health). • Participate in regular supervision and annual appraisals.
