1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Maidenhead Start Date: September Contract: Full-time, Long-term Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Academics Ltd is currently recruiting for a committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a welcoming primary school in Maidenhead. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference in a child's education, confidence, and overall development. The Role: As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a pupil who requires additional support throughout the school day. You will play a key role in helping the child access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a safe and inclusive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs • Support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals • Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil • Encourage confidence, independence, and active participation in classroom activities The Ideal Candidate Will Have: • Experience working with children with SEN in a school, care, youth work, or similar setting • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach • Strong communication and relationship-building skills • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, SEN teachers, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, or anyone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and gaining valuable experience within a primary school setting.
