Academic Standards & Compliance Manager (Further & Higher Education) Fixed Term Contract 5 months (End date 31/12/2026) - Potential to be extended £52,549- £59,408 - Pro Rata+ Generous Annual Leave + Professional Development + Cross-Campus Role + Excellent Benefits Cross-Campus London - Ideally located in either Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Orpington, Holly Hill, Greenwich Park, or Lambeth Are you an experienced academic quality or compliance professional from a Further or Higher Education background looking to take the lead on academic standards, regulatory compliance, and governance across a progressive education group? This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking college in a senior quality role where you will have the autonomy to shape academic quality systems, influence strategic decision-making, and ensure compliance across FE, HE and Apprenticeship provision. Working closely with senior leaders, awarding organisations, university partners and regulatory bodies, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all provision meets external requirements whilst continuously driving quality improvement. In this varied role, you will lead on academic quality assurance, compliance and governance, overseeing regulatory requirements including Office for Students (OfS), awarding organisations, Ofsted and ESFA compliance. You will manage quality assurance processes including validation, annual monitoring, assessment boards, external quality reviews, audits and academic policies whilst providing expert advice to senior leaders on regulatory risk and academic standards. The ideal candidate will have significant experience within academic quality, registry or compliance functions across Further and Higher Education, with excellent knowledge of awarding body requirements, academic governance and regulatory frameworks. The Role • Lead academic quality assurance, standards and regulatory compliance across FE, HE and Apprenticeship provision. • Oversee awarding body, Office for Students (OfS), Ofsted and ESFA compliance. • Manage academic governance processes including Academic Boards, assessment boards and quality committees. • Lead external audits, quality reviews, validation, annual monitoring and compliance reporting. • Develop and maintain policies, procedures and compliance frameworks. • Provide expert advice to senior leadership on academic standards, quality assurance and regulatory risk. • Cross-campus role with regular on-site presence. The Person • Significant experience within academic quality, standards, registry or compliance in FE and/or HE. • Strong understanding of awarding body compliance and academic governance. • Knowledge of Office for Students regulatory framework and wider education compliance requirements. • Experience supporting audits, inspections and external quality reviews. • Degree qualified or equivalent professional qualification. • Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
