Job Title: Accountant
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join a growing finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role is ideal for a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant looking to develop within a dynamic financial environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
• Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts in line with relevant standards (e.g., UK GAAP / IFRS)
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions where required
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT returns and corporation tax support
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors
• Maintain and improve financial controls and processes
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
Key Requirements
• Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
• Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP, or similar)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Desirable Skills
• Experience within the finance services industry
• Knowledge of financial modelling or data analysis tools
• Experience working in a fast-paced or growing organisation
