The Accounts Assistant will support the accounting team in managing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records. This role in the property industry requires attention to detail and a strong understanding of financial processes.

Description
• Reporting directly to Finance Director
• Two-stage bank reconciliation for 30 property funds (commercial and residential)
• General ledger reconciliation
• Service charge fund reconciliation - this will involve investigation Accounts Payable entries and leaseholder transactions
• Setting up transfers where needed e.g. landlord forward funding, reimburse CIS retentions
• Monthly review of landlord loan balances to service charge funds
• This may expand in due course to reviewing service charge expenditure reports, posting accruals and prepayments and assisting with the preparation of working papers to support year-end service charge accounts provided to leaseholders
• Reporting to our Financial Controller and Finance Director
• Circulating daily cash statements
• Tenant refunds - deposit returns, rent credits etc
• Transfer of deposits to Deposit Protection Service
• Transfer of service charge monies from rent accounts to service charge accounts
• Inter-account and inter-company transfers
• Other non-Accounts Payable payments
• Staff expense claims
• Posting BARX treasury deposits
Profile
A successful Accounts Assistant should have:
• Strong double-entry bookkeeping
• Methodical approach
• Keen attention to detail
• Familiar with accounting software and Excel
• Experience working in a property management company desirable but not essential
