Job description

Our client, a well-established international organisation, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead its Accounts Payable function. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong leadership experience who is passionate about driving process improvements, maintaining robust financial controls, and delivering an exceptional accounts payable service across a multi-country operation. Reporting to the Head of Transactional Finance & Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Accounts Payable function, leading the team to deliver accurate and timely supplier payments while maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities • Lead and develop the Accounts Payable function, driving performance and continuous improvement. • Manage the end-to-end purchase-to-pay process, ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time. • Oversee weekly payment runs, supplier reconciliations, and the resolution of complex supplier queries and escalations. • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, statutory audit standards, and company policies. • Maintain supplier master data, purchase ledger integrity, and ledger allocations. • Support the governance and administration of corporate and purchasing card programmes. • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery. • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers across multiple European markets. • Manage GRNI balances, debit balances, and corporate card transactions while maintaining strong financial controls. • Coach and support team members, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: • Previous experience managing an Accounts Payable team within a medium to large organisation. • Strong knowledge of purchase-to-pay processes and accounts payable best practice. • Experience working within a shared service or multinational environment. • A solid understanding of financial controls, compliance, SOX, and audit requirements. • Advanced Excel skills and excellent analytical ability. • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills. • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. • High levels of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
