Accounts & Tax Manager
Tunbridge Wells
£47,000 – £50,000 + DOE
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager to join a well-regarded and growing accountancy practice based in Tunbridge Wells
This role is ideally suited to a qualified accountant (or qualified by experience) who enjoys working closely with clients, leading teams, and delivering high-quality accounting and tax services.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted advisor across a range of accounting and tax matters. Alongside this, you will play a key role in overseeing workflow, maintaining standards, and supporting the development of the wider team.
Key duties will include:
• Managing a varied client portfolio and acting as the main point of contact
• Leading client meetings and providing practical, tailored advice
• Reviewing statutory accounts and tax returns to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• Planning and allocating work to ensure deadlines and priorities are met
• Maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality and presentation across all deliverables
• Supporting year-end compliance work, including P11Ds and other reporting requirements
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency
• Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships
• Coaching and mentoring junior team members
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with professional and regulatory standards
About You
You will be a confident and commercially aware individual with experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
You will ideally:
• Be ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience
• Have experience managing a portfolio of clients
• Possess strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax
• Be confident reviewing work and maintaining compliance standards
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Be comfortable using accounting software such as Xero, Sage or similar
• Have experience supporting or supervising junior staff (advantageous)
