Job description

Salary: Competitive Location: Buckinghamshire Contract: Permanent Overview of the Actuarial Pricing Lead role Sellick Partnership is currently supporting a leading insurance organisation as they look to appoint an experienced Actuarial Pricing Lead to join their growing Bulk Purchase Annuity Pricing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an actuarial professional with strong Defined Benefit pensions and risk transfer experience to take a leading role in the pricing and execution of BPA transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transactions from initial opportunity assessment through to deal completion, while supporting the development of pricing methodologies, mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to the continuous improvement of pricing models and processes. Key responsibilities of the Actuarial Pricing Lead will include BPA pricing and transaction management • Leading the pricing of Bulk Purchase Annuity transactions from initial triage through to execution • Reviewing and validating Defined Benefit pension scheme data used for pricing purposes • Assessing methodologies and assumptions used to address data gaps and inconsistencies • Overseeing the modelling of pension scheme liabilities and cashflows using actuarial valuation systems • Preparing and reviewing BPA pricing calculations and reporting, including Solvency II, UK GAAP and IFRS 17 • Producing pricing recommendations and reports for senior stakeholders and decision-makers Technical leadership • Supporting the review of individual member option quotations • Leading post-transaction true-up calculations following buy-in completion • Driving improvements to pricing models, methodologies and processes • Performing experience investigations and analysis to support pricing assumptions • Contributing to the development of actuarial tools and modelling capabilities Team development and collaboration • Providing technical guidance, mentoring and support to junior members of the pricing team • Working collaboratively with actuarial, finance, risk and wider business teams • Supporting ad-hoc projects and business initiatives as required Governance and compliance • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory, governance and conduct requirements • Supporting adherence to FCA Conduct Rules, Consumer Duty obligations and applicable PRA standards • Assisting with regulatory reporting and notifications where required Required experience for the Actuarial Pricing Lead position will include Essential experience • Qualified Actuary status, or near qualification with relevant industry experience • Experience within Defined Benefit pensions consulting, Bulk Purchase Annuity or risk transfer • Strong experience in DB pension scheme modelling and liability analysis • Solid understanding of UK Defined Benefit pension schemes, liability modelling and cashflow projections • Knowledge of buy-ins, buy-outs, longevity swaps and Bulk Purchase Annuity transactions • Strong understanding of UK BPA market dynamics • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively Desirable experience • Experience in BPA cashflow modelling and transaction pricing within an insurance environment • Experience supporting pension scheme buy-outs within a risk transfer team • Knowledge of actuarial pricing and modelling tools • Experience using the Mantle valuation system How to apply for the Actuarial Pricing Lead position If you would like to apply for this Actuarial Pricing Lead opportunity, please submit your CV today.
