Job description

Our client Leicester city council is looking for an Adult Social Worker to join their Mental Health team. Job PurposeThe Adult Mental Health Social Worker provides high-quality, person-centred social work services to adults experiencing mental health difficulties. The role involves assessing needs, safeguarding vulnerable adults, coordinating care, promoting recovery and independence, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, service users, carers, and partner agencies. Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment and Care Planning • Conduct comprehensive social care and psychosocial assessments. • Develop, implement, monitor, and review person-centred care and support plans. • Assess risks and develop effective risk management plans. • Promote recovery-focused practice and social inclusion. • Support service users to maximise independence and wellbeing. Safeguarding • Identify safeguarding concerns and respond in accordance with safeguarding legislation and local procedures. • Undertake safeguarding enquiries where appropriate. • Work within the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (or Liberty Protection Safeguards when applicable). Mental Health Practice • Work with individuals experiencing severe and enduring mental illness. • Participate in multidisciplinary assessments and care coordination. • Contribute to discharge planning and community reintegration. • Support crisis intervention where required. LegislationApply knowledge of: • Care Act 2014 • Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007) • Mental Capacity Act 2005 • Human Rights Act 1998 • Equality Act 2010 • Relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance.
