Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Job Purpose The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) provides autonomous, evidence-based clinical care to patients by assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic health conditions. The ANP works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while exercising independent clinical judgment within their scope of practice. Key Responsibilities • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations. • Diagnose and manage patients • Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests and investigations. • Independently prescribe medications (where qualified) and review treatment plans. • Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare professionals when appropriate. • Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education. • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and research. • Support clinical governance and ensure compliance with professional standards. Essential Qualifications • Registered Nurse (NMC registration). • Independent Prescribing qualification (V300). • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
