An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Agricultural Legal Secretary to join a well-established and highly regarded law firm specialising in agricultural property, rural business, and property law.
Working alongside experienced solicitors, you will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support across a varied caseload involving agricultural land, rural estates, farms, commercial property, and private clients. This role would suit an organised, proactive Legal Secretary looking to develop their career within a specialist area of law.
The Role
As an Agricultural Legal Secretary, your responsibilities will include:
• Preparing, formatting and proofreading legal documents, contracts and correspondence.
• Audio typing and producing accurate legal documentation.
• Managing case files from opening through to completion.
• Maintaining electronic records and legal databases.
• Diary management, scheduling appointments and coordinating client meetings.
• Liaising professionally with clients, land agents, surveyors, accountants and other third parties.
• Assisting with completion statements, billing, accounts queries and financial postings.
• Monitoring key dates, compliance requirements and legal deadlines.
• Providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the department.
About You
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
• A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Legal Secretary within a Property, Residential Conveyancing, Commercial Property, or Agricultural Property department.
• Excellent typing, audio typing and document production skills.
• Strong organisational abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a busy legal environment.
• Outstanding communication and client care skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
• A professional, reliable and confidential approach to your work.
• An interest in agricultural law, rural business or property law, with a willingness to develop specialist knowledge.
Desirable
• Experience using the LEAP Case Management System.
• A Legal Secretarial qualification or equivalent administrative qualification.
• Previous experience supporting agricultural or rural property solicitors.
