Alternative Provision Tutor - KS3 & KS4Location: Rotherham Salary: £25 - £35 per hour Contract: Flexible Hours Recruiter: Tradewind Recruitment Are you a qualified teacher, experienced tutor or education professional looking to make a real difference outside of the traditional classroom? We'd love to hear from you!Tradewind Recruitment are seeking compassionate, adaptable and experienced Alternative Provision Tutors to support Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils across Rotherham who require personalised education within the community. This rewarding role involves working on a 1:1 basis with pupils who are unable to access mainstream education for a variety of reasons. Many of the young people you will support have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, making a patient, nurturing and relationship-focused approach essential. About the RoleAs an Alternative Provision Tutor, you will deliver tailored educational sessions that help pupils re-engage with learning, build confidence and work towards their academic goals. Sessions may take place in pupils' homes, community settings or other agreed learning environments across Rotherham, in line with Local Authority guidance. Every learner is different, so you'll have the opportunity to adapt your teaching style to meet individual needs while building positive, trusting relationships that encourage progress. Your Responsibilities • Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition to KS3 and KS4 pupils. • Plan and adapt lessons to meet each learner's individual needs and targets. • Support pupils with SEMH needs using a calm, nurturing and consistent approach. • Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and confidence. • Monitor progress and provide feedback in line with Local Authority requirements. • Work collaboratively with families, schools, Local Authorities and Tradewind Recruitment. • Maintain accurate records of attendance, learning and progress. We're Looking For Someone Who Is: • A qualified teacher, experienced tutor or education professional with strong subject knowledge. • Patient, empathetic and resilient. • Confident working independently. • Skilled at building positive relationships with young people. • Flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of learners. • Passionate about helping vulnerable pupils achieve success. Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND, behavioural needs or those who have experienced barriers to education would be highly advantageous. Tutors with greater availability, relevant experience and who are able to meet more complex learner needs may be offered opportunities at the higher end of the pay scale.
