Nursing Assistant (Fixed-Term Maternity Cover) Swale Barn Vets Join Our Team We're looking for a caring and enthusiastic Nursing Assistant to join our friendly team at Swale Barn Vets on a fixed-term maternity cover contract, starting in early August. If you love working with animals, enjoy being part of a supportive team, and thrive in a busy clinical environment, we'd love to hear from you. You'll play an important role in supporting our veterinary nurses and vets, helping to provide exceptional patient care while ensuring the practice runs smoothly every day. The Role Location: Swale Barn Vets Contract: Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover) Hours: Monday-Friday, 12:00pm-6:00pm Weekend Work: None What You'll Be Doing As a Nursing Assistant, you'll support the clinical team with a variety of essential duties, including: • Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness throughout the practice • Restocking treatment rooms and clinical areas • Cleaning and sterilising surgical instruments and equipment • Assisting with the safe handling and restraint of patients • Caring for hospitalised patients, including feeding, walking and maintaining clean kennels • Preparing simple in-house laboratory samples • Supporting the nursing and veterinary teams with day-to-day clinical tasks • Providing occasional reception support when required About You We're looking for someone who is: • Passionate about animal care • Reliable, organised and eager to learn • A positive and supportive team player • Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment Previous veterinary experience or an animal-related qualification would be an advantage, but it's not essential. Full training will be provided for the right person.
