Assistant Principal – Study Programme & Higher Education Location: London Contract: Permanent Salary: £87,147 - £92,479 The Opportunity We are seeking an exceptional educational leader to join a leading Further Education college as Assistant Principal – Study Programme & Higher Education. This is a pivotal senior leadership role responsible for driving excellence across Study Programmes and Higher Education provision, ensuring outstanding student outcomes, high-quality teaching and learning, and strong progression into Higher Education, apprenticeships, and employment. Working closely with the Deputy Principal and wider Executive Team, you will provide strategic leadership for curriculum development, quality improvement, student success, and operational performance across multiple campuses. Key Responsibilities • Provide strategic leadership for Study Programmes and Higher Education provision. • Lead curriculum planning, growth, and development in line with learner and employer needs. • Drive improvements in teaching, learning, assessment, attendance, retention, and achievement. • Develop strong partnerships with employers, universities, awarding bodies, and stakeholders. • Lead and inspire cross-site teams, ensuring high performance and a culture of continuous improvement. • Ensure compliance with funding, quality, safeguarding, Ofsted, and Higher Education requirements. • Champion student progression, destinations, and overall learner experience. About You We are looking for an experienced FE leader who can demonstrate: • Significant leadership experience within Further Education. • A strong understanding of 16–19 Study Programmes and Higher Education provision. • Proven success in curriculum leadership and quality improvement. • Experience driving teaching, learning and assessment excellence. • Strong stakeholder management and partnership-building skills. • The ability to lead change, develop high-performing teams, and deliver exceptional student outcomes.
