Job description

Audit & Accounts Senior - High Wycombe (HP11) - £47,000 to £52,000 If you're an Audit & Accounts Senior, you'll know there's no shortage of roles out there right now. But finding one that actually offers progression, stability, and a genuinely good environment? That's a different story. This opportunity with Seymour Taylor sits firmly in that category. The firm - why people don't leave Seymour Taylor are a long-established, independent firm in High Wycombe - but they're not standing still. They've recently secured investment and are now working towards: • Becoming a Top 100 UK firm • Continued, sustainable growth without losing their culture They've built a 49-person team with strong retention, and that tells you a lot. This isn't a revolving door environment. It's somewhere people build careers. The role - proper Audit & Accounts Senior exposure This is a true Audit & Accounts Senior position, not one that leans too heavily one way. You'll be: • Leading audits from planning through to completion • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts • Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact • Delegating work to juniors and reviewing their output • Supporting and developing trainees • Managing your own time, budgets, and deadlines There's real ownership here. You're trusted to run jobs and manage assignments, not just follow instructions. What they're looking for They're after a well-rounded Audit & Accounts Senior who can hit the ground running: • Around 5+ years' experience in practice • Strong audit experience, including leading assignments • Exposure to accounts preparation and compliance • Ideally ACA or ACCA qualified • Confident communicator with good client skills • Keen interest to develop training staff • Commercially aware and able to manage time effectively They're also big on attitude - someone collaborative, reliable, and comfortable taking responsibility. The environment - where this really stands out This is a firm that's made a conscious effort to modernise how it works: • Hybrid working for seniors and above (1 day a week wfh) • Flexi-time - output matters more than rigid hours • Modern, open-plan office with breakout spaces and meeting hubs • Hot-desking setup with lockers and clean desk policy • Social environment with communal areas and a genuine team feel It's professional, but not corporate. Structured, but not rigid. Progression - not just a buzzword One of the standout things here is progression. Senior leadership have come through the business themselves - from trainee level upwards. So when they talk about development, it's based on real experience, not just a line in a job ad. If you're an Audit & Accounts Senior thinking about your next step, this is the kind of place where that next step is genuinely achievable. The process Clear and efficient: • Initial Teams conversation • Followed by a face-to-face interview and technical assessment No unnecessary stages, no drawn-out timelines. Why this role is worth considering Because it offers a combination that's harder to find than it should be: • A stable, well-run firm • Genuine growth and opportunity • A modern, flexible working environment • A role with real responsibility and variety For the right Audit & Accounts Senior, this isn't just a move - it's a step forward.
