Would you like to join a specialist public sector audit team in a role offering complex work, client responsibility and strong long-term progression. Our client is a highly regarded accountancy firm with an established Public Sector External Audit offering and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work across this specialist area. This is an excellent opportunity for an Audit Senior to take ownership of key assignments, work closely with public sector clients, and support the development of junior team members within a collaborative environment. Responsibilities: As an Audit Senior, you will… • Lead public sector external audit assignments from planning through to completion. • Manage budgets, workflow and deadlines across a portfolio of audit engagements. • Communicate with clients regularly, ensuring a high level of service throughout the audit process. • Support, review and develop junior team members through guidance and feedback. • Handle complex audit areas including risk assessment, group audits and first-year audit testing. Requirements: As an Audit Senior, you will need… • ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or a similar professional qualification. • Experience working in audit, ideally with exposure to public sector external audit. • Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, including public sector disclosure requirements. • Confidence managing multiple assignments, budgets and client relationships. • The ability to assess risk, lead audit meetings and deliver high-quality work to deadline.
