Bank Chemotherapy Nurse - July

• Undertake telephone triage for chemotherapy patients and their carers, to ensure that potential treatment toxicities are treated appropriately and swiftly. • Refer to support services as required e.g. palliative care, primary care, social services, Occupational therapy, Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Oncology Counsellor, orthotics department. • Ensure that the patient is rebooked for treatment and medical review at the appropriate time interval, and any pre-investigation forms are given to the patient. • Documentation of patient attendance in patient notes. • To communicate and work with all members of the MDT to provide good care and symptom management • Ensure that practice adheres to local and national policies and guidelines to minimise the risk associated with cytotoxic drugs. • At all times act within current Southend Hospital NHS Trust Policies and Guidelines of Clinical Practice.
