Job description

We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and motivated Teaching Assistants to join Alternative Provision (AP) schools across Westminster, Kensington & Fulham. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who may have experienced barriers to education, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, or additional learning needs. Your support can have a lasting impact on helping young people re-engage with education and achieve their potential. The RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will: • Support students both in the classroom and through one-to-one or small group interventions. • Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, confidence, and emotional wellbeing. • Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes. • Help manage behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies. • Support students with SEMH, SEND, ASD, ADHD, or other additional needs where required. • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. What We're Looking For • Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, care, sports coaching, or similar settings is desirable. • A calm, patient, and resilient approach. • Strong communication and relationship-building skills. • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people. • The ability to remain professional in challenging situations. • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one). • Right to work in the UK.
