Job description

Behaviour Teaching Assistant - SEN Secondary School | Enfield £100-£120 per day | Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Long-Term Every young person deserves to feel understood, supported, and valued. For students with Special Educational Needs, the right support can make all the difference-not just to their education, but to their confidence, wellbeing, and future. We're working with a welcoming SEN secondary school in Enfield that is looking for a compassionate and resilient Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who understands that behaviour is often a form of communication and is committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning. As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you'll play an important role in creating a safe, positive environment where students can develop socially, emotionally, and academically. Your day-to-day may include: • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups with their learning and emotional regulation • Providing calm, consistent support during challenging moments and helping students re-engage with learning • Building positive relationships that encourage trust, confidence, and independence • Working closely with teachers, therapists, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to provide consistent support • Encouraging positive behaviour through patience, structure, and clear expectations • Recognising and celebrating every achievement, no matter how small We're looking for someone who: • Remains calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations • Has experience working with young people in SEN, SEMH, behaviour support, youth work, care, or similar settings (desirable but not essential) • Can build strong relationships while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries • Has a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs • Wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students who need extra support to thrive This role isn't about managing behaviour-it's about understanding the reasons behind it, providing the right support, and helping students develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed. If you're looking for a rewarding opportunity where every day brings the chance to make a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.
