Axon Moore are recruiting on behalf of a longstanding client for a Bookkeeper to join their finance team on an initial 3-month temporary contract, with the potential for extension. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to support the business across a broad range of transactional accounting duties in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Irlam
Salary: Circa £40,000
Main duties:
• Manage the end-to-end purchase ledger process, ensuring invoices are accurately processed, matched to purchase orders, and supplier queries are resolved promptly.
• Prepare supplier payment runs, process domestic and international payments, and issue remittance advice.
• Reconcile supplier accounts, company credit cards, and bank accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
• Raise customer invoices, monitor outstanding balances, carry out credit control activities, and support cashflow forecasting with accurate payment information.
• Maintain accurate financial records by processing daily banking transactions and ensuring all postings comply with VAT regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and support the wider finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping activities.
Skills & experience:
• Previous experience in a Bookkeeping or all-round transactional finance role.
• Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and payment processing.
• Good understanding of VAT and its application within a finance environment.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Confident using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
