Broker Technician

• Annual Salary: Up to £70,000 • Location: Southend/London • Job Type: Permanent Join a well-respected Lloyd’s insurance broker in Southend, known for their commitment to excellent service. We are currently seeking a Broker Backup Technician with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a Lloyd’s broker environment. This position offers a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to join a successful team. Day-to-day of the role: • Produce and process open market slips and assist with binding authorities. • Create slips/endorsements, cover notes, policy schedules, debit notes, and monthly lineslip declarations. • Review and process premium and risk bordereaux. • Produce LPANs and submit work packages. • Maintain Earned to Incurred spreadsheets. • Manage Atlas and Lineage systems daily. • Issue credit notes/EoCs as required. • Assist with Coverholder applications and audits. • Calculate and monitor profit commissions. • Liaise with the claims team on claims issues and reports. • Track all binder renewals, review performance, and send renewal notices and chasers. • Chase premium payments. • Ensure compliance with Procedures and Regulatory requirements. • Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organised manner and present these to senior management as required. • Handle Xchanging/Bureau queries and other ad hoc duties. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a broker backup role within a Lloyd’s broker. • Part ACII qualification or equivalent is ideal. • Strong computer skills, including experience with Brokasure, A&S, Atlas, Lineage, DCOM, PPL, AIF, ECF, IMR, and other Lloyd’s/London Market systems. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software applications. • Excellent communication and organisational skills. • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines without compromising quality. • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
