Caretaker

Location: Weston Super Mare Job Type: Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our team. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring our premises, grounds, and facilities are maintained to a high standard, providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and customers.The successful candidate will be practical, organised, and capable of carrying out a variety of maintenance, cleaning, and site support duties. Key Responsibilities • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, facilities, and grounds. • Carry out basic maintenance and minor repair work. • Ensure the site remains clean, safe, and presentable at all times. • Monitor and report maintenance issues or health and safety concerns. • Open and secure the premises as required. • Support contractors and service providers working on site. • Perform basic grounds maintenance, including litter picking and outdoor upkeep. • Assist with room setups, furniture movements, and general site requests. • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and regulations. Requirements • Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or handyman role. • Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repairs. • Good practical problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively. • Strong awareness of health and safety practices. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Flexible and reliable approach to work. Desirable • Experience working within schools, commercial buildings, healthcare settings, or residential properties. • Relevant maintenance or facilities qualifications. • First Aid or Health & Safety certification.
