Job description

We're looking for a Caseworker for a central government department based in London (hybrid) on an initial contract running until March 2027, paying up to £214 per day (Inside IR35, Umbrella). This is a hybrid role with an onsite induction, followed by 1 to 3 days per week in the office in London depending on business needs. Please note there are no travel expenses. The successful Caseworker will analyse complex information from multiple sources and apply government policy to reach sound, well-justified decisions. You'll manage sensitive cases end to end, working to strict policies, procedures and tight deadlines in a high-paced operational environment. This role involves exposure to graphic and disturbing material, so resilience is essential and we'll discuss this openly with you before you proceed. You'll need to hold or be eligible to obtain SC clearance (no restrictions), and you must be a sole UK national, as the workload includes UK Eyes Only Secret documents. You will need proven experience working with the following: Casework in a complex, sensitive environment Analysing complex information with strong attention to detail Applying government policy to make and justify decisions Working to strict policies and procedures Working to tight deadlines under pressure Problem solving Stakeholder management Data Protection knowledge Excellent written and verbal communication in English Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) Empathy and resilience to graphic or disturbing content A background in the Home Office, Police or Immigration would be beneficial, as would experience dealing with complex cases.
