Child Care Solicitor (2+ PQE) Location: Northwest (Greater Manchester, Blackburn & Lancashire) / Hybrid Salary: Competitive, depending on experience and PQE Hours: 35 hours per week About the Opportunity MPJ Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established national law firm that is recognised for its supportive culture, flexible approach to working and genuine commitment to career development. As the firm continues to grow across the Northwest, they are looking to recruit an experienced Child Care Solicitor to join their highly regarded team. This is an excellent opportunity to handle a rewarding and varied caseload of publicly funded Child Care matters while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities • Manage a varied caseload of publicly funded Child Care matters from instruction through to conclusion. • Advise and represent clients in care proceedings, adoption matters and Special Guardianship Order applications. • Provide clear, practical and compassionate legal advice to legally aided clients. • Undertake advocacy where appropriate and attend court hearings. • Prepare legal documents, court applications and correspondence to a high standard. • Maintain accurate and compliant case files in line with regulatory requirements. • Build strong relationships with clients, colleagues and external professionals. • Support the continued growth and success of the Child Care department. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales. • A minimum of 2 years' PQE within Child Care or Family Law. • Experience managing your own caseload of publicly funded Child Care matters. • Strong advocacy skills and confidence representing clients in court. • Excellent communication, organisation and client care skills. • The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a supportive team. Desirable • Children Law Accreditation. • Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior team members. • Experience working towards departmental performance targets.
