Job description

The clinical practice educator (theatres) will work collaboratively with the theatre team leaders and deputy associate director of nursing to deliver effective, high quality, safe patient centred care across all theatre sites. She/he will support the continuing education, training and professional development of theatre staff, including preceptorship and induction of newly qualified theatre staff promoting the acquisition of new skills and knowledge. She/he will assist in the development and implementation of appropriate protocols and standard operating procedures in order to promote good clinical governance and risk management and undertake associate clinical audits as directed to ensure that all theatre staff are able to acquire and adhere to the professional standards and competencies required in perioperative practice.
