CNC Machinist - Semi-Skilled / Skilled
Location: Corby
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Hours 8 am – 5 pm (Monday – Thursday), 8 am – 1 pm (Friday)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (circa £27k + attendance bonus)
Our client is looking for a reliable and motivated Semi-Skilled / Skilled CNC Machinist to join their growing production team.
The Role
Working within our machine shop, you will be responsible for operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components. The successful candidate will have experience working with HAAS CNC mills and lathes and a good understanding of machining practices within a manufacturing environment.
Candidates who can independently set up and prove out jobs will be at a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate HAAS CNC milling and turning machines safely and efficiently.
• Manufacture components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
• Inspect components to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Monitor production output and identify any quality or process issues.
• Maintain a clean and organised working area.
• Work closely with colleagues and the team leader to meet production targets.
• Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
• Assist with machine set-ups and tooling changes where required.
The ideal candidate will have:
• 3 years' experience within a machine shop or CNC manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating HAAS CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Good understanding of machining tolerances and quality requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable Skills
• Ability to set up and prove out jobs independently.
• Experience selecting tooling and adjusting offsets.
• Knowledge of editing CNC programs.
• Experience working in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
