Support the Maternity Quality &
Safety Matron to co-ordinate patient safety and clinical governance activities,
deputizing where required.The Maternity Safety Strategy sets
out the Department of Health and Social Care ambition to reward those who have
taken action to improve maternity safety.
NHS Resolution work through the Maternity Incentive Scheme (MIS), which
incentivises maternity safety actions across a range of areas.The post holders primary
responsibility will be to oversee the effective delivery of the Maternity
Incentive Scheme. However, the post
holder will still be required to support general governance activity as part of
the Directorate Quality & Safety team, as required.
• Working
with the Clinical Director, Director of Midwifery, Head of Midwifery and other
appropriate governance leads to ensure robust evidence is provided to support
compliance with safety actions
• Lead
the delivery and coordination of CNST maternity incentive scheme requirements
• Ensure
robust evidence, audit and assurance processes are in place to demonstrate
compliance
• Work
collaboratively with clinical, governance and education teams to implement
safety actions
• Support
the development, implementation and review of clinical guidelines and standards
• Drive
continuous quality improvement through audit, evaluation and learning from
incidents
• Provide
expert advice on maternity safety, governance and risk management
• Lead
on preparation and submission of CNST evidence and compliance returns
• Escalate
risks and provide reports to senior leadership and governance forums
