Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Property Support professional to join my clients busy and growing Commercial Property team based in York. This role would suit an experienced Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant, or Property Support professional looking to develop their career within a well-established and supportive law firm. You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the department by providing high-quality administrative and legal support to fee earners handling a broad range of commercial property transactions. The Role • Providing day-to-day administrative and secretarial support to Commercial Property Fee Earners. • Preparing, formatting and amending legal documents and correspondence. • Managing client files from opening through to completion, ensuring compliance with firm procedures. • Carrying out Land Registry and Companies House searches. • Preparing completion statements and assisting with post-completion matters. • Managing diaries, appointments and meeting arrangements. • Liaising professionally with clients, estate agents, lenders, surveyors and solicitors. • Handling telephone and email enquiries efficiently. • Preparing SDLT documentation and Land Registry applications where appropriate. • Assisting with document production, file management and document filing. • Maintaining accurate records within the firm's case management system. • Supporting fee earners with exchange and completion processes. About You • Previous experience working within a Commercial Property or Property department in a law firm. • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks. • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • A professional and client-focused approach. • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office. • Experience using legal case management systems would be advantageous. • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • A proactive attitude and willingness to support colleagues when required.
