Commercial Underwriter

Commercial Underwriter Location – Colchester or Maidstone. 3 days per week Salary – Up to £40,000 IPS Group are working with a leading insurer to find a Commercial Underwriter to join their growing National Underwriting Hub! This is the perfect opportunity for someone with a couple of years of exposure to Commercial Lines underwriting that wants to further develop their technical expertise with a leading Insurer. About the role • You’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of new business and renewal cases, delivering profitable underwriting decisions in line with company appetite and guidelines. • You’ll work closely with brokers and internal teams to drive growth and maintain strong trading relationships. • Keep up to date with relevant market trends and insights • Be on hand to support colleagues with any questions About you • Ideally 2 years of UK underwriting experience (Commercial lines preferred) • Strong negotiation and broker relationship skills • Commercial awareness with the ability to assess and price risk effectively • Organised, proactive and able to manage a varied caseload • Working towards Cert CII (desirable)
