COMPLIANCE
Introduction:
We are a leading Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) based in Mayfair, London looking for an inquisitive Compliance Intern to join our growing Compliance Team. You will be reporting to the Head of Compliance/MLRO and will be working within a small dynamic and collegiate team. This will be a broad, multi-faceted and fast-paced role.
Job Purpose & Summary:
The primary purpose of the internship is to provide a structured learning opportunity for students or recent graduates to develop skills and gain professional exposure in the hedge fund industry, while the company benefits from fresh perspectives and productive support on compliance-related projects.
Learning Opportunities for Compliance Intern:
· To assist in Know-Your-Customer (KYC) ie Client Due Diligence (CDD) or Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) during client onboarding and to assist in Ongoing Monitoring on existing clients;
· To assist with the investigation and resolution of queries/requests from clients, exchanges or brokers, fund administrator, regulators and other areas of the business as and when required;
· To assist in the administration of internal and external compliance policies and procedures;
· To assist in ongoing and ad-hoc monitoring tasks including monitoring of effectiveness of business controls and monitoring of client transactions across a wide range of asset types;
· To support on compliance-related projects/initiatives as and when required; and
· To support other departments and/or on company-wide business projects as and when required.
Qualification and Experience:
· Pursuing a STEM Bachelor’s Degree (STEM Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not mandatory); and
· Possess basic understanding of financial services, compliance principles, risk management and regulatory frameworks (preferred but not mandatory).

Job description
Falcon Investment Management is a leading Alternative Asset Manager and hedge fund platform based in Mayfair, looking to hire two more staff for hedge fund operations within its middle office team. You will be working within a small dynamic and driven team. This will be a broad, multi-faceted and fast paced role.
Job purpose
To support the continuing development of this highly successful business, we require a dynamic professional to play a key role in supporting the operation department.
Duties will include
· Productively liaise on daily basis across multiple stakeholders: Accounting, Fund Administrator, Prime Broker, Counterparties, Portfolio Managers
· Maintaining up to date operational due diligence (ODD) on counterparties
· Independent coordination of the due diligence and audit process, and coordination with the managers and other external service providers
· Coordinate various internal meetings, i.e. risk meetings, board meetings
· Support the operations team with the full new fund set up process
· Proactively identify opportunities to streamline current procedures and processes
· Supporting the compliance and risk team
· Conducting operational due diligence on external fund managers as an integral part of the selection process in various asset classes with a focus on hedge funds, private equity, private debt and real asset alternative investments
· Operational due diligence of business processes, particularly in the areas of operations, risk management, compliance, IT and fund administration of selected external managers
· Independent coordination of the due diligence and audit process, and coordination with the managers and other external service providers
· Preparation of interviews including on-site visits: counterparties and portfolio teams
· Ongoing development of internal processes.
Knowledge and Experience
Ideally work experience in one of these areas; fund compliance, depository, investment fund oversight, investment operations, fund accounting, audit or operational due diligence.
