About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Construction Solicitor (5+ PQE) to join our clients growing Construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for an established construction lawyer or a commercial litigation solicitor looking to specialise in construction disputes.
Working alongside experienced partners, you will advise a diverse client base including developers, contractors, consultants, employers, funders and insurers on a broad range of contentious construction matters.
Key Responsibilities
• Advising clients on construction and engineering disputes.
• Managing adjudications, arbitrations, litigation and other forms of dispute resolution.
• Providing strategic advice on issues arising under standard form and bespoke construction contracts.
• Drafting correspondence, pleadings and settlement documentation.
• Advising on contract interpretation, defects, delay, payment disputes and professional negligence claims.
• Working closely with experts, counsel and clients to deliver commercially focused solutions.
• Supporting business development initiatives and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Supervising junior lawyers where appropriate.
Candidate ProfileWe welcome applications from:
• Qualified Solicitors with 5+ years' PQE.
• Experienced Construction Solicitors with a contentious focus.
• Commercial Litigation Solicitors seeking to move into construction law, particularly those with experience of complex contractual disputes.
You will ideally have experience of:
• Commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
• High-value contractual disputes.
• Court proceedings, mediation, arbitration or adjudication.
• Excellent drafting and advocacy preparation skills.
• Managing client relationships and running matters with appropriate supervision.
Construction-specific experience is desirable but not essential for candidates with strong commercial litigation backgrounds and a genuine interest in specialising in construction law.
