Job description

Cardiology To be responsible for ensuring a commitment in providing a high-quality cardiology service to patients bycontinual development of practice in the light of research evidence and by audit against Clinical standards. To provide advice to primary and secondary care colleagues in other specialities in relation to cardiacproblems and overseeing the internal referrals assessed by junior and specialist cardiac team. To provide a comprehensive outpatient service from clinics provided in both the main outpatients andspecialist clinics held within the Clinical Measurement Unit. To support teaching and training of junior medical staff, medical students Postgraduate Medical Education in general. The Trust will strongly Support and allow time for CPD for the Successful candidate. To support and encourage audit and research and develop close links with academic initiatives. To actively participate in CME and personal development programmes. To complement non-invasive imaging in addition to overseeing and addressing clinically urgent cardiologyreporting within the Clinical Measurement Unit. To develop an interest in coronary interventions. To support the on-going development of services for cardiology in line with the existing programmes formanagement of coronary heart disease, angina and heart failure liaising with community and primary careservices.
