Job description

The post holder has responsibility for the delivery of haematology care and will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of speciality doctors. The post holder along with their consultant haematology colleagues, will work collaboratively with the Management Team to deliver the clinical care strategy to ensure the highest quality of care for patients and families in all settings. The post holder will be expected to participate in community services across the whole catchment area. The post holder will be based at Darent Valley Hospital . The post holder will be expected to be involved in the development of all the clinical services with close liaison with colleague Consultants and the Senior Management Team. The post holder will provide clinical supervision to the specialty doctors. The post holder will contribute to the on-call rota, frequency 1: 5 week .If more than one person is appointed then the on call rota will be altered appropriately. The post holder will take responsibility of 2 malignant clinics per week and a total of 18 Non Malignant /year clinics. The Non Malignant clinic encompasses a comprehensive range of patients including general haematology, thrombosis & haemostatic disorder,sickle cell disease in collaboration with Guys and Kings College hospitals in London. The postholder will have an opportunity to develop in the Thrombosis lead role.
