Job description
The
post-holder will be expected to develop, in conjunction with the department, a
comprehensive service for Neurology within South Tyneside and Sunderland and
contribute to on-call consultant cover during weekdays.
The post-holder
will be expected to provide, in conjunction with the department, a
comprehensive service for inpatient and outpatient neurology. Inpatient care
will be undertaken as part of the team, and an on-call service on a 1 in 7
basis will be developed, to provide daily input into EAU, to support and
develop ambulatory pathways, and undertake regular emergency out-patient
reviews.
Out-patient
care will be undertaken with clinics in both general neurology, and a
sub-specialty, in discussion with the clinical director, lead clinician, and
directorate manager. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to teaching
and clinical audit and work within the Clinical Governance framework of the
Trust. Participation in service planning within the service and Directorate
will be expected, with a commitment to working within organisational
expectations.
